The radiogramm from
Motorship "Vilkitsky strait", engine 6 K 74 EF
1996-11-13
...After reconstruction
the engine runs better. Minimal revolutions 32-35 at
full running speed - 120 RPM, travel speed - 17 knots.
After elimination of drawbacks the camshaft will be
able to attain continuous operation at 122-124
RPM, minimal revolutions -
about 30 RPM =

The m/v Aleksandr Kolmpere,
has realized successful mooring in the Port Rocky Point (Jamaica)
due to unique properties of suction valves made by the company Express
Diesel Service Ltd.
The old valves already have worked for about 14500 hours, though
we don't have problems with them, but firing pressure has become lower
on 2-3 kg/cm2 with other conditions being equal. I think, that the
valves can hold on and till 20000 hours at normal operation of fuel
filters, but it is better to test them as soon as possible and then
to make final conclusions concerning elongation of service life for
new valves. At the last berthing in a port Rocky Point (Jamaica) these
valves greatly helped us, though they had worked already for huge
time. In this port within 14 minutes 17 reverses and start-up were
made. The pressure in a starting air-ballon was 11.7 kg/cm2 by the
end of operation. |

Report of

Intermediate Result of
Modernization of Fuel Equipment for 6 L 67 GF CA Main Engine of m/v
“MAR” (type of “Gregory Nesterenko”) and comments on the data.
...The injection pressure at full speed min 830, max 920, before modernization
— max 470 kg/cm2. The injection pressure of 47 MPa is indicative of
fuel overconsumption that exceeds by more than 10% the normal nominal
value.
Speed before modernization: 14,2-14,3 (max), after modernization:
15,1-15,3 (knots).
After modernization: the temperature of exhaust gases at cylinders
- max 385 C, before modernization; 395-400 C. |

Test results of power plant
6 L 80 GF on motorship Captain Dimov
The results of oscillographic measurements of the fuel process show
that in the cylinder #2 maximal injection pressure measured in the
distribution box was 400 kgf/cm2 medium pressure - 380 kgf/cm2 in
the injection period of 16,4 grad of crankshaft revolution. In cylinder
#1 the respective parameters were 378, 350 kgf/cm2 and 19,9 grad of
crankshaft revolution. Specific indicated fuel consumption - 151,3
gr/e.h.p./h, effective fuel consumption -175,8 gr/e.h.p./h.
EDS comments: The drop of injection pressure increased fuel consumption
by 13% in relation to the specified value. |

During stand high pressur, fuel pump was pressurized with shafturing
gear in work. Manometer was mounted on all pumps. Squal pressure of
100 kg/cm was achieved. No data to compare tins rate. In results of
engine test stand it is not shown. With main engine work with 112
RPM, pressure of injection is 520 520 510 530 530. Result of travel
teste with 133RPM are 513 533 524 528 537 correspondingly. |
